So what else is new?

Bush Is Said To Have No Plan If GOP Loses

Thus blares the Headline from US News and World Report. Ah, yeh. After 6 years of having no plans for anything else why did you think that this would be different?

And it seems as if some of the GOP is finally starting to trickle back from their extended trip away from the reality based community.

There is also considerable criticism of Bush for making little or no news in his 63-minute encounter with the press.

"He had nothing to say at the press conference," says a prominent GOP insider. "My question is, why call it?"

Some of us have been saying that for a very long time folks. Welcome back.

The New York Daily News today reports that:
Bush remains defiantly resolute. He will campaign relentlessly in the next month and has told friends he's determined to prove his Democratic and media enemies wrong on Election Day.

Looking at the President's track record since taking office, on everything from Social Security to Katrina, the obvious outcome is that the Democrats will take control of both The Senate and The House.

Nothing wrong with overly friendly emails

Dear Neighbor,

I saw your 16 year old son and one of his hot friends playing basketball in your driveway the other day.

Could you please send me his email address? I would love to strike up a friendship with him. I think that it would be to his advantage to have a 52 year old friend.

thanks in advance,

ps: Do you have any photos of him that I could have?

Take a break from Foleygate for a minute. Krissy Keefer has a right on message.

Some of the brightest, sharpest minds in the conservative movement have been working non-stop since the Foley story broke, trying to find out just whose fault it is that a sexual predator has been allowed the stalk the halls of Congress for the past several years. The hard work has paid off. The blame rests entirely on the shoulders of this individual:

Nancy Pelosi (per Pat Buchanan)
Bill Clinton (per Dennis Hastert)
The Pages (per Drudge)
Tom Reynolds (per Dennis Hastert)
Dennis Hastert (per Tom Reynolds)
John Boehner (per Dennis Hastert)
Dennis Hastert (per John Boehner)
The "sleaze ball, greedy, aggressive" Page (per Michael Savage)
Democrats and/or liberals and/or the media (per Rush Limbaugh)
The Democrats (per Sean Hannity)
Florida voters (per Bill Kristol)
"tolerance and diversity" (per FRC's Tony Perkins)
liberals tolerant of the "gay lifestyle" (per the Wall Street Journal)
gays who would be offended at criticism of Foley (per Newt Gingrich)
"a network of gay staffers and gay members" of Congress (per unnamed sources on Capitol Hill)
Low level staff members in Hastert's office (per Rep. Ray LaHood)
Nancy Pelosi (per Rush Limbaugh)
Brian Ross of ABC (per Rush Limbaugh)

This list is based almost entirely on an excellent piece of reporting by Media Matters.

Catholic League's Head blames boys for being molested.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue today took time to blame the victims of pedophile priests for being sexually abused.
"After all, most 15-year-old teenage boys wouldn’t allow themselves to be molested. So why did you?” He asked. "Why didn't you just slap the clergyman in the face?"
Donohue also went on to proclaim that in the year 2005 "only" 840 priests were sexually abusing children. I'm not sure that's something to brag about, Bill.

I guess he probably believes that women who get raped are "asking for it" as well.
